” A Perfect 12-0 Season”

This was my first Iron Bowl, which is the game that has been played for the past 74 years against Alabama and Auburn. It was a game too, Auburn scored first and was up for most of the game, but in the end the war eagles fell to the Rollin’ Tide 26-21. The game was in Auburn this year so I did not attend. For Thanksgivings week I went to the Rogers home which is in Tuscaloosa across town. Our next game will be in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship Game, were playing the Florida Gators. The winner of this game will play for the BCS Championship in Pasadena, California. I’m still going back and fourth on going to the game. The only thing stopping me is the cost of the ticket. I was looking them up on the internet and the lowest price I found was $600 dollars, not exactly in my price range. But if they go I have to follow, it’s in my home state after all and It would probably be the only time I would see the Tide play in under the California Sun.

“My first last Home-game”

My first last home-game was this week. We played UT Chattanooga, which was a killing 45-0. Not much of a game but some of the 2 stringers got some game time so that was good to see. I got a ticket to the game throw the ticket lottery. Next we will be playing Auburn, in Auburn so I won’t be going. I’ll be in Alabama for Thanksgiving. I will be going to my pastor’s wife’s parents house. It was weird how things go, my dad was telling the pastor about me getting in to Alabama. And he told my dad that his wife’s parents live in Tuscaloosa, which is the town of the UA.  The semester is almost over, with about three weeks to go. I’ll be leaving Dixie for California December 11. I can’t believe my first fall is almost over, it went faster than i had expected. My brother has been telling me about my old high school, Tracy High. They went undefeated in football in the regular season, which hasn’t happened since the 80′s. I leave for Bama and they start winning, what’s the deal. Friday they won their first game in playoffs. Hopefully they will go all the way to UOP in their section, because i’ve looked at the bracket the would play that game, December 12. It would be nice to see some bulldog football.

Coming Up: UT Chattanooga

IMG_4888Ya We Do!!

This weeks game was against the LSU Tigers, which is Saban’s old team. So we knew it was going to be a barn burner. My brother Ricky came down for the weekend. He showed up on thursday night at around 11 P.M. Two weeks ago I received an email for a lady, asking me if I had been to Rama Jama’s, because she had seen it on ESPN’s Todd’s Taste of the Town. Well I hadn’t, did not even known where it was located. I found the restaurant walking along taking pictures of stadium construction. It is right across the street from the stadium, but it is closed on Sunday’s which happened to be the day I found it. So I thought I would take my brother to it. We stopped to the Rama Jama’s for lunch, it’s the coolest place, memory’s of the Tides past and future every where you look. After looking at the menu we both decided on the Mount Cody Burger. It was reasonably priced and a quality burger with great fries. If you make it to Tuscaloosa, it is a must eat. Later that night went to Chucks Seafood for dinner with some of my friend. They have good food with a great atmosphere, there was even a live band. It’s a lot more formal than Rama Jama’s, but also a must eat. This weeks game was the first time a brought my camera in the stadium so there are a lot of great pictures.

IMG_4613These were good

There was no game for Bama this week. But it was Halloween so the nightlife was just the same, but dressed in costumes instead of crimson. I saw some pretty good costumes but favorite was the Heisman Trophy. I didn’t see him but my friend Joe did. He said the kid was painted in bronze with a classic leather head helmet. Next week is the LSU game, which should be the best game at home of the year. My brother Ricky is rolling into town for the weekend, so it should be fun. My aunt Laurie Holfman sent me a package of homemade goods and some almonds. I don’t know what the things in the picture above where called, but they were really good. She also made Almond Toffee that was pretty good too. And of coarse see sent me some almonds, because my Uncle Daryl is and almond farmer, the farm was started by his father and mother. It was passed down to him and the farm will be passed on to my cousin Brent, who a couple of months ago came back from the middle east, fighting for our freedom. Thanks again Brent and fellow soldiers.
