Yesterday I took a tour of the basketball arena, the Coleman Coliseum. There has been some minor renovations including the new addition of the jumbotron above center of the court. Basketball starts in a month, November 4. Alabama will be away this week at Ole Miss.

” The Game and More”

This weeks game was away at the University of Kentucky. It was early in the day so I had to get up before 12, I will do it only for two things, God and Football. I went over to a friends apartment to watch the game, they have a big HD TV, so it works out nicely. Both Florida and Texas had a buy week, so they did not play. Because of that we had no chance of moving up in the national ranking, were staying strong at number 3, with the win against Kentucky. The final score was 38 to 20.

Since I did not attend the game, due to it being in Kentucky. I thought I would share some interesting facts about Byrant-Denny Stadium. First of all the name of the stadium comes from the legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant and the one time University of Alabama President George Denny.

The stadium at this point hold 92,138, which makes it the 7th biggest on campus college stadium. Once the new renovation to the South End Zone is complete in 2010 the final tally will be over a hundred thousand.

My favorite part of the Stadium is the Visitors Locker room, you probably wondering why. The names is the “Fail Room” which is named for Mr. James M. Fail an donor and alumni.

Finally, Hats off to my Alma Mater, Tracy High School on their big win against West High. The finally score was 42 to 21 and their record is 4 and 0.
