I went to the post office today and looked for mail. I opened the P.O. Box and it’s a card from Mr. and Mrs. Kint (Nanny and Bob). I open it up and I got the scary of a lifetime. Thanks Bob.

It is a tradition here at the capstone for Sorority houses to put up different Decorations in front on the lawn. A theme is presented and it is up to the girls to design and build them. A large 2 by 4 frame is built with chicken wire on the face. Once they have the structure put together its time to get the tissue paper and lots of tissue paper to create the picture. They stick different colors of paper in the holes of the chicken wire, which will make the design.

Homecoming ended the week with some Alabama Football. We played the South Carolina Gamecocks, on prime time ESPN. Our offensive played like crap but lucky, we scored early and the Defense was able to hold them back for the most part. To beat the gamecocks 20 to 6. At half time the Homecoming Queen was crowned, Sarah Gieger. It was a cold night so we all bundled up to see some football. We found out today, Sunday the AP ranking has us moved up from number two, to the number one spot, passing the Florida Gators.  But the BCS rankings, which is the one that counts has us at number 2 behind Florida. We play Tennessee at home next week, which should be a good game. I’m working on getting a ticket.

The Parade started at 11:30 am to correspond with the night game. The theme this year was “A Return to Glory” focusing on were we have been and where were going, Back to Glory. The route was from Downtown Tuscaloosa to the quad. People lined up all along the Strip, in their houndstooth Coats and Crimson gear. The parade lasted about an hour and a half, the only thing missing was Coach Saban and the rest of the Alabama football team. My favorite part of the parade was, as I mentioned earlier, a modified car that spun around with a big guy on the back. My first Bama Homecoming was one of many.  It’s another reminder of the Tradition of this Historic University.
