This weeks game was at home against old rivals Tennessee. I couldn’t get tickets through the ticket lottery, so I watched it on TV. It was the closest game so far this season. It came down to the final seconds, when we luckily blocked the 44-yard field goal attempt by Tennessee. Which if made, would have seen Bama’s first lost. Alabama won the game 12 to 10, which bumped us down to the number 2 spot on the AP poll.

They are working hard on our stadium expansion. Which should be finished next year with the first game on My 21st birthday, September 4, 2010. We play my uncles team San Jose State, so it should be a killing.

This is the 2010 football Schedule for the Crimson Tide

It is a tradition here at the capstone for Sorority houses to put up different Decorations in front on the lawn. A theme is presented and it is up to the girls to design and build them. A large 2 by 4 frame is built with chicken wire on the face. Once they have the structure put together its time to get the tissue paper and lots of tissue paper to create the picture. They stick different colors of paper in the holes of the chicken wire, which will make the design.

Homecoming ended the week with some Alabama Football. We played the South Carolina Gamecocks, on prime time ESPN. Our offensive played like crap but lucky, we scored early and the Defense was able to hold them back for the most part. To beat the gamecocks 20 to 6. At half time the Homecoming Queen was crowned, Sarah Gieger. It was a cold night so we all bundled up to see some football. We found out today, Sunday the AP ranking has us moved up from number two, to the number one spot, passing the Florida Gators.  But the BCS rankings, which is the one that counts has us at number 2 behind Florida. We play Tennessee at home next week, which should be a good game. I’m working on getting a ticket.

The Parade started at 11:30 am to correspond with the night game. The theme this year was “A Return to Glory” focusing on were we have been and where were going, Back to Glory. The route was from Downtown Tuscaloosa to the quad. People lined up all along the Strip, in their houndstooth Coats and Crimson gear. The parade lasted about an hour and a half, the only thing missing was Coach Saban and the rest of the Alabama football team. My favorite part of the parade was, as I mentioned earlier, a modified car that spun around with a big guy on the back. My first Bama Homecoming was one of many.  It’s another reminder of the Tradition of this Historic University.

Tonight was the Homecoming Bonfire and Rally. It was a lot of fun, its starting to get cold in Tuscaloosa. But I was just happy the rain held up. I recieved a new package from home, the Neuerburgs sent it. It was a box full of candy, I have already eaten the strawberry liquorice that stuff was as they would say in the south,”out of this world”. Special Thanks to the Neuerburgs! Tomorrow is the parade and then the big game again South Carolina, I will be attending I got a ticket through the student lottery, which is one of the only lotteries in the state because Alabama does not have a State Lottery. Also on Sunday’s it’s a dry state, which means no alcohol is sold, even at the grocery stores. They be running moon shine like them Duke boys.

This week is homecoming for Alabama. There are lots of events leading up to Saturday’s game against South Carolina. This includes voting for homecoming queen, which I did, the winner will be announced at the bonfire pep rally friday night. I went to the post office today, this time I had three packages. Two from my Uncle Gary and Aunt Laurie and a box from my Friend Cheryl. My Uncle and Aunt sent me a halloween card that was from the Simpsons, one of those with sound, pretty cool. They also sent me a Cooking with Paula Deen Magazine, one to add to my collection. Cheryl sent me a box of homemade brownies, that were very good. It is alway nice to have packages sent from home. So thank you, Uncle Gary, Aunt Laurie, and Cheryl!

Just heard we leap frogged the University of Texas to take the number 2 spot in the country. I still can’t believe I go to a top rated school. Goodtimes, Roll Tide Roll!!!!!

The follow is from rivals.com, written by RALPH D. RUSSO, AP College Football:

Alabama’s steady rise in the rankings has left the Crimson Tide with a clear view of No. 1 Florida.Alabama jumped Texas into second-place behind top-ranked Florida in the AP Top 25 on Sunday, giving the Southeastern Conference the Nos. 1 and 2 teams in the country. The Crimson Tide moved up one spot after rolling over Mississippi 22-3. Texas, which had been No. 2 all season, slipped a spot after sputtering early in a 38-14 victory against Colorado. The Gators and Tim Tebow beat LSU 13-3. They have been an overwhelming No. 1 since the preseason, but support for Alabama has steadily grown.Florida received 50 of 60 first-place votes from the media panel, a season low. The Crimson Tide received 10 first-place votes, up from five last week. It’s the second time in the past two seasons that Alabama and Florida have held the top two spots in the rankings. Last year, the Crimson Tide was No. 1 and the Gators No. 2 for two weeks before they played in the SEC title game.Texas for the first time this season did not receive a first-place vote. The Longhorns might be able to get some support back by beating No. 20 Oklahoma on Saturday in the Red River Rivalry.No. 4 Virginia Tech, No. 5 Boise State and No. 6 Southern California each moved up one spot.In the battle for Ohio, Ohio State moved up to No. 7 and ahead of No. 8 Cincinnati after a 31-13 victory over previously unbeaten Wisconsin. The Bearcats, who were idle Saturday and have a Big East showdown with No. 21 South Florida on Thursday night, were ahead of the Buckeyes in the rankings last week for the first time since 1951.Miami is No. 9 and LSU dropped six spots to No. 10 after its first loss.In the USA Today coaches’ poll, Florida is No. 1, Texas is No. 2 and Alabama is No. 3. In the Harris Poll, the top three is the same as the AP poll. The coaches’ poll and Harris poll are used in the BCS standings, which will be released next week for the first time this season. In the AP Top 25, No. 11 Iowa had another narrow escape, beating Michigan 30-28 to stay unbeaten. No. 12 TCU also had a close call, but stayed undefeated with a 20-17 victory in the cold and wind against Air Force.No. 13 is Oregon followed by Penn State and Nebraska, which vaulted six spots to 15th after beating Missouri on the road. After the Cornhuskers are Big 12 rivals Oklahoma State and Kansas.No. 18 is BYU, Georgia Tech is 19th and Oklahoma No. 20.The final five has South Florida and South Carolina, then three teams that re-entered the rankings this week.No. 23 Houston moved back into the rankings after beating Mississippi State 31-28 in Starkville.No. 24 Utah rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Colorado State 24-17 and No. 25 Notre Dame got back into the AP rankings on an off week. The Fighting Irish host USC on Saturday, with a chance to drop out or make a big move back up the rankings. While the SEC holds the top two spots in the Top 25, the conference only has four ranked teams this week, down from six last week. The Big 12 has the most ranked teams with five. Ole Miss, which began the season in the top 10, dropped out of the rankings for the first time in 2009. Auburn also fell out after losing its first game of the season and Missouri dropped from the rankings.

” Another Crimson Win”

3663309Yea Alabama!

This week Alabama was in Oxford, Mississippi to play some SEC football. We beat the Ole Miss Rebels 22 to 3. The Bama Campus was dead this weekend. We had a mid fall study break, which ironically doesn’t involved studying. Almost everyone goes home for the hiatus. We got Thursday and Friday off, to make a five day weekend. I went out this morning to the post office to see if my brownies that my friend Cheryl baked and sent me arrived. I get to the post office and it was closed and will be till Tuesday because of Columbus Day.

mailboxNo Such Luck

Next week is Homecoming we play South Carolina. This should be a very exciting time here at Alabama.
