Sorry it so long for me to post a new entry. School has been crazy, this week was my first full week. I’m taking four classes this term ; two in Political Science and two in History. All of which are in ten Hoor Hall, the history building. Everyone here is waiting for Crimson Tide football to start. I joined College Republican last week, first meeting is in September. If you wanted to know my mailing address it is as follows:

Midday yesterday there was some thunderer, lightening and heavy rain. It was coming in from the southern part of Alabama. I live in the more northern part. You could see the lightening right in front of you, it was a sight to see. I went to my first southern grocery store, not including Walmart. It’s called Publix, its similar to Safeway. There is one on the UA campus a few blocks from my apartment building.

“We be Moving on Up”

I moved out of the mold infested rose towers and transferred to Ridgecrest South. Which is a brand new building. I live with 3 roommates but I have my own room with a desk, dresser, closet, and bed that can be adjusted height wise. I will post pictures of my new room later in the week.

We went shopping all weekend two times to Walmart, one time to Target, one time to Big Lots, one time to the Dollar General, and lastly once to America’s Thrift Store. When we were at the Thrift store I smelt something burning.  When we get up to check out I here over the loud speaker ” There is to be NO, Absolutely No Smoking in the dressing room or in the store!!!” Then later I found out some guy was smoking in the changing room and through his cigarette in the little plastic trash can. Luckly some employee saw it and dragged the can out to the sideway outside of the store. When we were leaving it was burning pretty good. The can went from a foot and a half to half a foot. There was two  sets of doors one to enter and the other to exit. My dad when we left the store was trying to go out the exit and I’m quiet certain if the building would have caught fire he would have broken down the exit door. “Rose get me a chair”.

We left Tracy at 4 a.m. for Oakland airport. We boarded at 7 a.m. for LAX, we stopped there and then went to Phoenix then to Birmingham.

“Packed Up And Ready To Go”

suitcaseI’m leaving Tracy, heading to Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama. My parents are going with me to help me get set up in my apartment. People ask me all the time why so far or why Alabama. My answers always the same the three “G’s”, God, Great Football and the GOP. I’m also a fan of American History  so there’s no better way of learning than to be where it happened. To put the history at UA (University of Alabama) in to context the school is older than the admittance of California into the union.
